A Lifetime of Dental Excellence

Dr. Rafael Mendez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2002. During dental school he received the Raymond Baralt Award honoring his professionalism, leadership, and passion for dentistry.

Before joining Northlake Dental, Dr. Mendez spent two decades serving families across Puerto Rico and eastern North Carolina. He has owned and led multiple practices and remains active in the International Association for Orthodontics. Patients appreciate his meticulous care, reassuring chairside manner, and commitment to staying at the forefront of modern dentistry.

Outside the office, Dr. Mendez loves spending time with his wife Wanda, their children Cesar and Gaby, and granddaughters Aileen and Mia. He’s an avid photographer who enjoys capturing memories from family adventures and beach getaways.
